Abstract

Technological operations of drilling holes are performed on drilling machines. Experimental studies conducted for these types of machines and carried out at machine operators’ workplaces have shown that even at idle, sound pressure levels exceed sanitary standards by 5 - 9 dB in the mid-frequency part of the spectrum. Since during processing the cutting tool goes deeper into the part and the length of the spindle overhang increases, which is significantly greater than the length of the cutting tool. The presented results of theoretical studies make it possible to determine the levels of the spectral components of acoustic characteristics by calculation at the design stage of the corresponding drilling technological processes.
