Abstract
The article is devoted to the economic prospects of reducing the negative impact on the environment through the introduction of the principles of sustainable development. The authors explore current challenges related to environmental issues and propose a promising path in the form of a transition to sustainable production and consumption models. It also analyzes what economic benefits can arise from the introduction of green technologies, energy-saving measures and sustainable practices in various sectors. Special attention is paid to the impact of such changes on reducing the environmental footprint of enterprises, improving resource efficiency and creating new jobs. The authors also discuss possible challenges and obstacles to sustainable development, suggesting strategies to overcome them. They consider the role of government policies, corporate responsibility and public awareness in creating an enabling environment for the transition to sustainable models. As a result, the article highlights the importance of a balanced approach to sustainable development, taking into account both environmental and economic aspects.
