The article considers the issues aimed at creating favorable conditions for the effective work of medical workers, improving access to health care for the population and the development of rural health infrastructure. The main emphasis is on retaining medical staff in rural areas through various social support measures. The international experience of social support for young professionals is studied. A conclusion is made and priority areas for sustainable development of rural health care are formulated.
