Vocational teacher training in the utilisation of barcode scanner technology as cultural arts learning media in Bandung

Abstract

The utilization of technology in education is very important to improve the quality of learning. This article discusses training for SMK teachers in Bandung in the use of barcode scanners as a medium for cultural arts learning. Using a qualitative approach and descriptive analysis, data were obtained through observation, interviews and documentation. The workshop was attended by 16 teachers and showed high enthusiasm and increased competence in integrating this technology into teaching. Although the limited infrastructure and short duration of the training were obstacles, the results showed the potential of barcode technology to improve student interaction and engagement. Recommendations include continuous training, infrastructure improvement, and evaluation of technology-based materials.
