Abstract
Stamps, in addition to their monetary value, contribute to the communication process with some functional features (promotion, propaganda, art, visual learning, etc.). The aim of this study; In order to create an effective learning environment in primary education institutions, it is aimed to raise awareness about the necessity of positioning postage stamps as supplementary course material in primary education institutions by revealing the contribution it will provide to the students in the age group determined by the semiotic analysis of the postage stamps, which are reached by the method of document analysis, one of the data collection tools. In the scope of the research; The definition of stamp has been made and its relationship with learning theories has been mentioned. In this context, philately (stamp science); Its relationship with disciplines such as astronomy, biology, geography, physics, chemistry, mathematics, music, history and medicine is explained. A total of 24 postage stamps were used in this study, which was created on 9 different fields of science and personal stamp applications. These images consist of 14 domestic, 7 foreign and 3 personal stamps. At the end of the research, it was deduced that stamps could be used as supplementary course material in primary education institutions with a study to be carried out with the support of the academy.
