Abstract

Preservation of cultural heritage is a big problem all over the world. Many studies and research conducted worldwide have shown that cultural heritage and its preservation can significantly contribute to the achievement of sustainable development goals. It is very important to understand that community involvement in cultural heritage conservation will not only make conservation more sustainable and safe, but cultural heritage can also create an environment of cohesion, promoting the protection of identity, values and traditions, as well as contributing to social well-being. The article discusses the issue of the preservation of cultural heritage, the issue of involving the community in preservation, and also presents the role of heritage in the development of the community using the example of the Aghavnavank settlement.
