Abstract
The objective of this paper is to describe the major principles of controlling production of compacted graphite iron, aka vermicular graphite iron, using thermal analysis (TA) of cast iron melts as a means of control. The paper goes on to show the engineering implementation of the above principles and the results of how one of a Russian foundry applied them.
