Fatigue Behavior of CA Mortar in CRTS-I Ballastless Track under Train Load

Abstract

By means of the finite element (FE) method, the beam-shell model on elastic foundation of CRTS-I ballastless track was established. On the basis of Palmgren-Miner linear cumulative fatigue damage criterion, life cycle analysis method was used to analyze the CA mortar fatigue life under different train loads. Results show that the overall average CA mortar life is 10 to the 11th power. As the train load increases the CA mortar fatigue life decreases, the biggest drop is 4.1 percent. The danger areas of CA mortar fatigue life are on the slab ends. It is suggested that maintaining the CA mortar on the slab ends should be considered as the main task during the maintenance.
