Abstract
Antibacterial titanate whiskers were synthesized by calcination of titanium dioxide with potassium carbonate, following by ion-exchanged and immobilized with Ag+ and Cu2+. The pretreatment conditions for whiskers synthesis were investigated; the microstructures of as-prepared whiskers were characterized by XRD and SEM. The antibacterial performance of cation-doped titanate whiskers was tested and evaluated by Escherichia Coli. and staphylococcus aureus.
