Rectangle Spline Hob Error Analysis of Tooth Profile

Abstract

This paper introduces a method for solving theoretical curve of rectangle spline hob by using the analytic method. The tooth profile and tooth profile envelope diagram have been simulated by using Matlab software, and the effects of numbers of hob cutting edges on the workpiece edges degrees errors has been analysed. Simulation results show that this method can select a reasonable number of groove according to the requirements of target accuracy, which can improve the design accuracy and design efficiency of the hob.
