Application of TEM in Goaf Exploration

Abstract

The basic principle of transient electromagnetic method (TEM) is introduced in this paper, and it was used to explore position of the goaf which existed under Fushun east open-pit mining slope systematically. Inversion based on results of the exploration determines the location of dangerous abnormal area, provides a theory support for next exploration drilling, avoids too high economic loss because of blindly exploration drilling, and provides scientific basis for mining design and safety production of open-pit.
