Research on the Pulse Current Distribution of the Hollow Cylinder Surface

Abstract

For analyzing the distribution of the pulse current on the hollow cylinder surface, different pulse currents distribution characteristics of hollow metal cylinder surface are simulated by CST (Computer Simulation Technology) software. The results show that, different pulse currents injected in the cylinder submit to the same distribution basically; the difference in the length or the thickness of the cylinder have no significant effect on the current distribution, but the distribution changes greatly as the external diameter changes. The work in this paper provides a reference to analyze the lightning pulse current distribution of high tower building surface.
