Satellite Solar-Panel Occlusion Algorithm Based on OpenCL

Abstract

The electrical output of solar-panel is affected by the illuminated condition. It is closely related to the sunlight incidence angle and sunlit area of the solar-panel. This paper firstly points out the importance of satellite solar-panel occlusion in aerospace fields,introduces the satellite body model, the solar-panel model, and deduction models such as sunlit area, effective number of battery strings, sunshine incidence angle and so on. This paper presents an algorithm for analyzing satellite solar-panel shadow, and uses OpenCL to improve the efficiency. Finally, the results of this algorithm implemented are analyzed by mathematical simulations.
