Abstract
For satisfying the dispersion and compatibility of nano-ZnO particles in organ medium, stearic acid (SA) which was activated by N, N’-carbonyldiiimidazole (CDI) was grafted onto the surface of ZnO nanoparticles prefunctionalized with aminopropyltriethoxysilane (APS). The results showed that the grafting reaction of SA on the nanoparticles had occurred successfully through the intermediate of carbonyl imidazole obtained by reacting between CDI and the stearic acid, and the amount of stearic acid grafting on the nano-ZnO with CDI was much more than that on the nano-ZnO particles without CDI.
