Abstract
Lean manufacturing system sees to the exclusion of non value added activities in the industrial atmosphere and reorganizes the existing production procedures, processes to attain enhancement in terms of cost reduction, increase in quality and profit. The objective of this research article is to recognize the critical issues of lean execution and to assess their role of critical issues in organisational performance. Business type, Usage period of lean, Benefits achieved through lean, Occurrence of lean activities, Turnover rate, Employees training, Percentage of customer satisfaction and Delivery defect rate in Indian automotive industries are the different critical issues considered to measure the impact of lean system. An experimental study was conducted through a well structured questionnaire circulated to employees at various levels in the automotive manufacturing industries in Tamilnadu for arriving at the objectives. Frequency analysis was carried out for various critical issues and the results have been tabularized in order to find out the hypothetical co-relations between the various issues. Each issue has been a reason for lean production success, which is proved using the hypothesis testing. The findings through hypothetical means of survey reveals that, both industrial and employees performance has found to be absolutely affected by successful lean implementation in Indian automotive industries.
