Abstract
Constructional engineering is becoming the key industry in the national economy. But, construction enterprises are lagging far behind those industrial enterprises with refined management and computer integrated manufacturing system. Operations research is mainly concerned with management problems and involves the construction of mathematical models and the application of mathematical tools and modern computer technology. In this paper, the optimal plan of steel cutting is studied based on of linear programming, and a calculation example is given to illustrate the solution with the help of MATLAB software.
