Abstract

The technologies of Rocket Based Combined Cycle (RBCC) engine have been investigated for several decades and many academic achievements have been acquired by researchers, but wide gap exists between the practical applications and dream. In order to hackle the basic technical problems and promote practical applications of RBCC engine, this paper which is refered to many study results made by all the world and this paper’s authors analyzes the technical characteristics of RBCC engine on structural type, working mode and performance. Aiming at future applications of RBCC engine, technical challenge is analyzed. This paper also presents and analyzes feasible application concept for high-speed near-space flight mission using RBCC engine.
