Research of a New Lunar Landing Gear Technology

Abstract

This paper discusses a new lunar landing gear technology. The landing gear is designed to achieve 1~2 tons of lunar lander landing buffer. Technical indicators are met by the designing of structure and simulation, and the final prototype model is designed and tested at last. Firstly, the design ideology of landing gear is introduced, and the choice of technical method is analyzed and compared. Secondly, the composition of landing gear is analyzed respectively. Finally, the landing gear is certified by landing impact test. The results prove the design rationality of landing gear. The landing gear has significant advantages, such as simple structure, light weight and small volume. The design ideology and experience of landing gear can be referenced by related research area.
