Abstract
The mechatronic technology raises a new requirement for the product design process which is both mechanical and electrical design need to be more interactive, collaborative and integrated.. In order to satisfy the requirement, in this paper, a new integrated CAD system has been developed based on the 3d modeling kernel Open CASCADE. The main 3D mechanical and 2D electronic digital design functions are developed and integrated in the system. In addition, the electromechanical parts library, which was built in the system, includes not only mechanical information such as 3D package geometry structure but also electronic properties of electronic components. The circuit logical design can be carried out in the 2D logical design module of the system, and next important electromechanical design process is PCB layout and optimazation with mechanical structure are integrated in 3D environment. At last, an example is shown to illustrate the system, which can support the design of mechatronic products, decrease the interactive work and data exchange between mechanical and electronic information and improve the design efficiency.
