Method Development for Low Phosphate Measurement

Abstract

Recently, many studies have suggested phosphate limitation (<0.25ugP/l) as an option to control biofouling in RO system. It becomes to be able to develop a method to determine phosphate in seawater, having a limit of detection at least less than 0.25ugP/l. Therefore, this paper aimed at method development for phosphate measurement at very low concentration, which was carried out by modifying the existing ascorbic acid method with hexanol extraction and the result show that LOD was lowered to 0.13ugP/l after modification.
