Abstract
The nucleation and growth kinetics of copper nanoparticles at castor oiled graphite-epoxy solid electrode surfaces were studied by cyclic voltammetry. The nucleation and growth is merged into a sphere particle growth process described by a exponential function with parent first order rate constant of 0.00341 s-1. The soft water-immiscible electrode surface shows a smaller interaction with the deposited copper particles. The with the free energy changes is about G0=6.562 kJ/mol. This study may be useful for the electroanalysis, and offers a new way to prepare controllably the spherical nanometal particles.
