Abstract
Many general managers realize that the optimization of the production systems by using robots is not enough to increase the company performance. It has to be sustained, among other, by the supply chain management. The aim of this paper is to study the possibility of optimizing the work relationships within the supply chain by defining and evaluating the core management skills and competencies, especially soft and social competencies in the logistics operational level. The method used was the interview. The results of the qualitative method used come with new information on the subject of the paper, but only from a particular perspective - the interviewed manager has more than 10 years experience in eight different Romanian companies in logistics. The paper argues, on the one hand, that the work relationships within the supply chain are influenced by the employee’ attitude towards work and, on the other hand, that the work relationships within the supply chain can be optimized by defining and evaluating job competencies.
