Abstract
Comparisons between theoretical and experimental results of the flow velocity of the nature-like channel embedded with stones were performed and the application range of the velocity formula was proposed in this study. Comparisons showed that variances of theoretical and experimental results in the rough bed are larger than those in the smooth bed, which implied that Rouve equation is applied better in the relatively smooth bed. Rouve equation is not applied well in the range of steep slope (s>1/20) and low depth (h<0.5m) with the effect of eddies and turbulences.
