Abstract

P 1-Stavudine-P2-zidovudine-5′,5′-diphosphate has been synthesized efficiently from the phosphoropiperidate/4,5-dicyanoimidazole (DCI) system. The redox condensation protocol provided a chromatography-free method for the preparation of stavudine 5′-phosphoropiperidate from the corresponding stavudine 5′-phosphate.
