Abstract
The pipe joint is a common part used in automobile, which is in great demand and has certain requirements for dimensions and accuracy. Considering the forming efficiency and material consumption, a precision forming technology based on cold extrusion was presented in this paper. In order to predict the springback during cold extruding, an elastic-plastic finite element model was proposed with the software MSC.MARC, and then the influence of the extruding die on the springback was discussed. With the numerical simulation results, the forming die was optimally designed, and the forming experiment was carried out to verify the simulation results. The feasibility and advantage of the forming technology is proved by experimental results and numerical simulation.
