Study on the Design of Outdoor Furniture Made of Recombinant Bamboo

Abstract

People are paying more attention to the design of outdoor furniture with the coming of outdoor leisure lifestyle. The using of bamboo material has become the inevitable trend in the background of pursuiting of ecological and environmental production. It indicated recombinant bamboo (RB) can be widely used in outdoor furniture through analyzing its performance such as physical and mechanical properties, processability, mildew proof and corrosion resistance. And then it summed up the guidelines of current outdoor furniture design by discussing the concept and types of outdoor furniture, which should integral with the environment, emphasize the embodiment of the artistry and the culture based on the function and technology. And it put forward the design of recombinant bamboo outdoor furniture should start from the material itself, show the bamboo culture, combine different color and texture of recombinant bamboo and chose other outdoor material to match, and guide people to further research of recombinant bamboo characteristics to improve the processing performance, durability, decoration, etc., and provide more choices for the future design.
