Abstract

Because of the differences in physical properties, the aeronautic PMMA for porthole may easily craze, crack and even explode in flight. In this paper, the operating conditions for porthole were analyzed and testing methods of PMMA’s thermo-physical properties were studied considering the two main factors, temperature and pressure, which affects porthole’s operating life. At last a thermo-physical property testing system of aeronautic PMMA based on temperature-pressure parameters was designed. This device could preferably simulate the operating conditions and conduct continuous fatigue test for PMMA, which helps make up the lack of physical property testing research for aeronautic PMMA in China.
