Abstract
Fe-Fe2O3 nanocomposite was synthesized by one pot method using ferric chloride as the iron source, sodium borohydride as the reducing agent and PVA as the stabilizer. The synthesized Fe-Fe2O3 nanocomposite was characterized by using XRD and SEM. The XRD studies reveal the formation of Fe-Fe2O3 nanocomposite and the broadening of the peak reveals the narrow size distribution of the Fe-Fe2O3 nanocomposite. The SEM image of Fe nanocomposite shows the agglomerated microspheres. The synthesized Fe-Fe2O3 composite nanoparticles were evaluated for electrochemical sensing of hydrogen peroxide. The electrochemical behaviour of Fe-Fe2O3 nanocomposite modified glassy carbon electrode (GCE) exhibit excellent electrocatalytic activity when compared with bare GCE.
