Abstract
Carbide precipitation in a Fe-C-Mo alloy was investigated by means of large compressive deformation and isothermal treatment utilizing Gleeble thermal simulator. The precipitated carbides were Fe3C, (Fe,Mo)2C, (Fe,Mo)3C and (Fe,Mo)6C. The dislocations and deformation bands formed by large compressive deformation promoted the carbide precipitation. It was found that the sequence of carbide precipitation was not changed by large compressive deformation.
