Abstract
The scale models are usually tested to study the dynamic characteristics of large structures or micro-electromechanical systems. Dimensional analysis, as a classical similitude analysis method, because of the uncertainty of the basic vector of solutions, is a trial-and-error approach greatly depended on experience. Based on the finite element method (FEM) and frequency response function (FRF) analysis, a new method was proposed to quantitatively analyze the similitude of the model parameters and the FRF between the full size model and its scale model. And the load scale rules were established to predict the static or dynamic response characteristics of the actual structure.
