Abstract
✓ The anatomy, radiological appearance, and diagnostic importance of the optic strut are described and five cases presented to illustrate its value in the diagnosis of infraclinoid aneurysms, optic gliomas, and orbital deformities associated with neurofibromatosis. A distinction is made between erosion and deformity of the optic strut.
