Abstract
The Rogerian motivational constructs of actualization and self-actualization were inadequately presented in the large majority of introductory textbooks we examined. This phenomenon may partly reflect that authors do not recognize the historical changes (or the significance thereof) in the motivational aspects of person-centered theory.
