Studies of Unsaturated C-Aryl Glycosides by Fast-Atom Bombardment Mass Spectrometry

Abstract

Fast-atom bombardment (FAB) spectra, FAB mass-analyzed ion kinetic energy (FAB MIKE) spectra and FAB MIKE spectra with collision-activated dissociation (FAB CAD-MIKE) were obtained for some unsaturated anomeric C-aryl glycosides. Although the FAB MIKE and FAB CAD-MIKE spectra of the [M + H]+ ion showed no differences, differentiation of the regioisomers and anomers was possible by analyzing the MIKE and CAD-MIKE spectra of the [M + Li]+ or [M + Na]+ ions.
