The study aims to increase the knowledge of Female Head of Households (FHHs) about their Generalized Resistance Resources (GRRs), strengths and potential abilities of themselves and their family members and improving Sense of Coherence (SOC) and trying to actualize these abilities to increase their mental health and quality of life.
Method
This research will be an intervention study with pre-test-post-test with control group design. First, by simple random sampling, a sample of 180 FHHs from Tabriz health centers are selected for cross-sectional study and pre-test. Then, from this number, 56 people are randomly selected, and finally, they are randomly divided into two groups of 28 people, control and intervention. At first, a pre-test will be taken from them and analyzed, and their strengths and weaknesses, external and internal GRRs and capacities, needs and characteristics will be assessed. Based on the assessment, an intervention program with the positive health approach will be designed with the aim of improving mental health and quality of life. Then, the intervention program designed and implemented for the intervention group. The control group will only receive the routine services of the health center. After the intervention, two post-tests are performed in the third and sixth months to measure the impact of the intervention and the stability of the changes.
Discussion
In this study, instead of creating skills, we want to use a person's hidden assets to improve his sense of coherence, mental health and quality of life. This study can be a turning point for the science of health promotion and health economics, especially for vulnerable people in society.
