Abstract
A non-protein gum has been isolated from broth filtrates of human tubercle bacilli grown on a simple medium. It fixes complement and precipitates in high dilution in the presence of homologous immune serum, but fails to give a skin test in tuberculous animals. The preparation and some of the chemical properties of the substance are described.
