Abstract
ABSTRACT
This article surveys works published since 2010 that engage the novels and poetry of Thomas Hardy (1840–1928). Three full-length works of biofiction are compared with three scholarly monographs that discuss elegy, folklore, aging, and the pastoral. Next, the article examines recent works that analyze Hardy’s writing through the lenses of cognitive theory, cultural history, ecocriticism, and narratology. Finally, the article overviews journal articles and book chapters that gesture toward possible futures for Hardy studies.
