To estimate the light extraction enhancement of an organic light emitting diode due to a periodic refractive modulation lattice simulating a photonic or plasmonic lattice, a noniterative scheme was proposed based on the Wentzel–Kramers–Brillouin solution used to calculate the input/output efficiency of a refractive index grating coupler for optical circuits, treating the lattice as a two-dimensional Bravais lattice.
