An Apparatus for the Examination of Localized Corrosion Behavior

Abstract

Abstract A potential measuring device has been developed which allows the distribution of potential on a specimen surface to be determined and displayed and at the same time the levels of potential to be recorded. This equipment permits the study of corrosion on metallic surfaces under well defined environmental conditions and the direct study of the origin and propagation of pits in metals. The electrochemical data is related to the metallurgical features of the metallic surface.
