LOAD-BEARING CAPACITY AND RELIABILITY ANALYSIS OF FRICTION PILES ON PULL-OUT LOADS

Abstract

The article presents new methods for load-bearing capacity evaluation and reliability analysis for friction piles under pull-out loads. The new approach is also proposed for the friction forces description on the pile lateral surface, which arise not as a result of the pile “failure”, but as a result of pile material microdisplacements (deformations). The presented method for reliability analysis is based on the fuzzy sets theory and can be used with incomplete statistical information about the controlled parameters, which will reduce financial and time costs. Numerical examples of the pile load-bearing capacity and reliability calculation are given, as well as a comparison of the results with the standard approach.
