Abstract
Introduction: This study analyses the incorporation of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), multimedia applications and artificial intelligence (AI) in the training of Primary Education Degree students at the University of Valladolid, highlighting their relevance after the implementation of the European Higher Education Area. Methodology: Quantitative methods, including Likert-type surveys and interviews, were used to collect data on the socio-demographic characteristics of the students, as well as their knowledge and experience with advanced technologies. This allowed us to assess the level of access to technological devices and basic skills in computer tools. Results: Although students showed a high integration of ICT in their daily lives, significant gaps were detected in areas such as music creation and advanced use of AI. These gaps indicate a need to strengthen education in specific technologies within the teaching curriculum. Conclusions: The effective integration of ICT, multimedia applications and AI in the training of future educators can significantly improve educational quality and prepare students to face the challenges of an evolving digital world. The study underlines the importance of adapting educational programmes to include advanced training in these areas.
