EVOLUTION OF THE COMMUNICATIVE COMPETENCE NOTION IN RELATION TO FOREIGN LANGUAGE TRAINING OF STUDENTS AT TECHNICAL UNIVERSITIES

Abstract

The article deals with the evolution of the «communicative competence» concept in relation to foreign language training of students at technical universities. The presented definitions show a gradual transition from understand- ing this concept solely from the perspective of linguistic and intercultural competences to understanding the impor- tance of the professional component in the structure of this competence.
