Abstract

Aim: This study was conducted as a descriptive study to reveal the privacy consciousness of university students. Method: The sample group consisted of the students who had just started university education in the departments of Nursing, Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation, Nutrition and Dietetics, and Engineering at a state university (n=576). The data were collected through an online questionnaire in April 2021, using the Informative Features Form and the Privacy Consciousness Scale. Mann-Whitney U and Kruskal-Wallis tests were used in the analysis of the data. Results: The total mean score of the students on the Privacy Consciousness Scale was 4,49±0,42. The "consciousness and behaviors regarding privacy of self" subscale mean score and total mean score of the female students were statistically higher than male students.
