Abstract
A 36-year-old man presented via direct access to a physical therapist within 1 hour of injuring himself by jumping off a boat to a lakeside pier and landing in a full squat. Suspecting tendon rupture or avulsion fracture, the physical therapist immobilized both legs and referred the patient to an orthopaedic surgeon for radiographs, which showed bilateral quadriceps avulsion from the patella.
