Abstract
Forty-nine patients with intra- and postoperative defects of maxillary sinus floor were included in this study. Buccal fat pad was used for closure of maxillary sinus floor defects. Development of oroantral communication was not detected in any patient.
Thus, the use of buccal fat pad for closure of maxillary sinus floor defects is a predictable method, with the minimal complications and is offered as a method of choice.
