Ion Diffusion and Lithium Jump of Li2B12F12 dissolved in Propylene Carbonate (PC) studied by NMR Spectroscopy

Abstract

Many lithium salts are investigated to use in electrolytes for lithium batteries. Most anions are monovalent ions. A newly synthesized cluster bivalent anion B12F122- has been verified on the possibility of the usage in secondary lithium batteries. In this study, diffusive properties of the anion, lithium and solvent are studied by the PGSE NMR method for four different concentrations of the PC solutions. Since the temperature dependence of 7Li T1 shows the minimum, the correlation times for the lithium jump are estimated.
