Abstract
Iron-based soft magnetic composites (SMCs) were prepared by two-step ball milling with sodium silicate and ferroferric oxide. The presence of the precoated silicate layer has increased the resistivity of the powder surface, which also improved the agglomeration of ferroferric oxide. The addition of magnetic ferroferric oxide improves the dilution effect. Combining the advantages of both sodium silicate and ferroferric oxide, the prepared soft magnetic composite material has excellent performance. After annealing at 400 °C, the core loss is 214.5 W Kg−1 (1 T, 1000 Hz), and the saturation magnetic induction is 1.33 T.
