The Need for Conservation of Archeological Heritage, Current Challenges and Forthcoming Approaches

Abstract

Heritage is complete assortment of our inherited traditional values, culture, objects & monuments. Highly valuable is the array of contemporary behaviors, consequences, and actions that we inference from them. However, the archaeological sites are areas that provide information and materials about the distant past of mankind. The relevance of heritage is not limited till the past, but it also portrays our present and influences the future. Survey results and informatory from around the world shows that cultural heritage sites not only promote social cohesion, conservation, inherit skills and impart education, but also enhances infrastructure development, job opportunities, FDI, and economic growth. In this paper the need, process, significance, and values of archaeological sites has been discussed by considering appropriate case of Qutab shahi tomb Archaeological Park which is a recent example of conservation & restoration study and represents that the project is economically feasible for public access.
