Abstract
Porous nickel alloyed anodes (Ni-Al and / or Ni-Cr) have demonstrated excellent mechanical, chemical and electrochemical stability during MCFC stack endurance tests. These electrodes showed no discernible change in the morphologies, pore structure and particles size. Combination of polarization studies and different diagnostic techniques showed that the anode reaction is primarily under mass-transfer control. Improved anode structure with balanced pores for gas diffusion and electrolyte retention was developed. The current focus of technology development is on improving wettability, reducing anode material cost and improving the manufacturing process
