Platform for Rapid Prototyping of PEM Fuel Cell Designs with Enhanced Cold-Start Performance and Durability

Abstract

In this paper recent results will be presented on the cold- start performance and performance decay of a polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cell utilizing a novel single cell insulated platform. The cell will be shown to replicate closely the start-up performance of a stack center cell thus greatly reducing the time and expense required to examine initial cold-start performance and start-up procedures of new cell configurations.
