Abstract
The complexation of 9-fluorenone and benzophenone by hafnium salts in acetonitrile / 0.2M TEA BF4 has been studied. From cyclic voltammetric studies, it has been found that both Hf(TfO)4 and HfCl4 form a 1 : 1 complex with 9-fluorenone. Benzophenone also forms a 1 : 1 complex with Hf(TfO)4. The electrochemical behavior of HfCl4 in AN / 0.2M TEA BF4 has also been investigated.
